This project was perhaps the most challenging that I undertook at the NCR Knowledge Lab. The system pre-dated the commercialisation of the GPS system by many years and proved to be highly effective. I was working on it just at the time when the Americans were about to switch off the spoilers on the GPS system. In those days, if you didn't have the military codes, GPS accuracy was limited to about 200m or worse. At the start of the project that was the case and my venues had to be at least 300m apart. Midland Bank, London Planetarium, Safeways and other locations in central London were programmed into the system's server for demonstration purposes.
