Bespoke instruments that Gerry designed and I made the electronics for at Imperial College include a spinner magnetometer, three undersea potential probes, and three undersea magnetometers. Two of the three potential probes were lost at sea but the remaining one provided all the necessary data. This whole effort was directed towards proving the then unproven theory of plate tectonics.
